UCC Open Day & Vintage Car Rally
20th April 2014
TY Students Visit UCC on Open Day
On Thursday 9th of April a group of students left the school at 9.15 to go to UCC’s Open Day, which was specifically targeted at Transition Year Pupils. Fifty-two Ard Scoil students boarded the bus and upon arrival at the university were greeted by a student ambassador who was specially allocated to the group.
The trip provided us with a great insight into college life and study. Each course provided by UCC had a stall set up on campus, where we could speak to students and lecturers of the course on an individual level. We all received leaflets on the courses and modules we have an interest in. Everyone found the day very beneficial and enjoyable.

Vintage Car Rally Fund Raiser
We would like to thank all the teams who participated in our 5th and 6th class quiz on the 8th of April. We hope everyone had a good night. Congratulations to the winning teams. Our next fundraising event is bag packing in Garvey’s Supervalu on the 9th of May.
Eamon Foley will be holding a vintage car run on the following Sunday May the 11th at 12 o' clock in the afternoon also to help our fundraising efforts. The starting point for the run is at the Ard Scoil and there will be refreshments supplied at the school before. We would like to invite you all to come and support us on both days. All the money that we raise will go towards our Lourdes fund which will assist us in paying for the pilgrimage on which we will help as youth helpers.
