Hello 2013, Charity Fundraising, TY Enterprise
7th January 2013
A New Year.
This week it’s back to work for the Ard Scoil. We hope everyone had a good Christmas and we wish you all the best for 2013. The exam classes will be studying hard for the upcoming “Pre” exams and the T.Y.s will be moving on to new projects having completed so many before Christmas.
Charity Fundraising.
I wish to congratulate the girls who, in the true spirit of Christmas, raised funds and collected food for different charities in December. They sang carols, wore Santa Hats, ran various projects, wrote Amnesty cards to prisoners of conscience and reminded us what Christmas is really about.
T.Y. Enterprise.
On the 12th of December 13 enterprises, created by the transition year students, competed for a place in the Regional Final of the Student Enterprise Awards which will take place in February. Having completed 10 weeks of the Student Enterprise module run by the school the students participated in a craft fair held in the school. The students were interviewed and judged on various elements of their enterprise by Stephen and Gail from the Student Enterprise Award .
The successful enterprises that will compete in the Regional Final are displayed below.
