Ard Scoil Welcomes French “Assistante”
23rd July 2012
The Ard Scoil welcomes our French “Assistante”.
Last Wednesday we were delighted to welcome Charlotte Defrance who is to join the French department of the Ard Scoil for the coming year.
Charlotte, who has just received her degree in English from the University of Rouen ,capitol of Normandy, will assist in the teaching of French in the school. Having a native speaker will be a great asset, especially for Leaving Cert students preparing for their oral exams.
Principal Mrs Dorothy Hughes welcomed Charlotte and her parents; their visit to the school was enlivened by the music coming from many of the classrooms as brilliant musicians practised for their performances at the Fleadh Ceoil.
It was wonderful to see so many of our own talented students involved in this festival of traditional music.
Once again, we welcome Charlotte and hope she and her parents enjoy their visit to Ireland. We look forward to her joining the staff in September.
