Munster Cross Country Championships

Last Friday our Senior girls team, Rebecca Maher, Kaylee Norris, Claire Collins and Roisin Tobin  won silver for the Ard Scoil when they came second in the Munster Championships. Well done also to Kate Curran who came in the top thirty in the Junior girls race.

T.Y. News

The T.Y. students are very busy at the moment. Along with their usual classes, they are involved in a variety of projects. One group has just finished their magazine entry to the Irish Times Transition Times competition and a very impressive mag it is too! Our thanks to Kelleher Printers for doing such a splendid job in such short time! Good luck to Aisling, Sarah, Fiona and their team.

Another group is working on their Energy for One project. They have produced a fantastic DVDs to accompany their “green” song , organised a poster competition for first years and are completing other sections of their work.

As part of their Gaisce  work, another set of girls are organising follow up activities to their very successful Well Girl Day.

As Seachtain na Gaeilge approaches, Mrs O’Donovan’s Irish classes are organising all sorts of events including “Cleamhnas”together with the T.Y. students in the C.B.S.

Congratulations to Naomi Roche who recently was commended for her Enterprise at the County Enterprise Finals.

Well Girl

On Friday the 5th ,eight transition year students organized an activity day for first years. This activity day was done in order to get more young girls involved in sports. On the day, the first years participated in Badminton, Aerobics, Self Defense and Yoga. The first years really enjoyed the day and are hoping to do a choice of two activities out of the four over the next few weeks.

The transition years would like to thank the instructors of the individual activities as they couldn’t have done it without them. The eight transition year girls who made the day a success were Roisin McComb, Sophie Allen, Allison O’ Sullivan , Nikita Whelan , Ashling Cronin, Katie Whyte ,Sophie Duhig and Claire Crowley.
