Aid for Haiti, Earl of Cork Scholarship Assembly, Open House & Camogie
Newsletter - 25th January 2010
Camogie.
On Tuesday, January 26th, our under 16 and a half camogie team will play Macroom in the Munster semi-final; we wish the girls and their mentor, Ms. Pickering all the best for the match.
Haiti.
Last week the students decided to make a collection for the victims of the earthquake victims in Haiti. It was suggested that the girls forego a “treat” over the weekend and donate the money saved to the collection. Thanks to the very generous donations from students, staff and families, the sum of €920 was raised for this very worthwhile cause.
The Earl of Cork Scholarship.
On Monday last, the entire school community gathered for an assembly in the Junior hall to acknowledge the achievement of TY student in winning the Earl of Cork Scholarship and the Burke Memorial prize. Principal Mrs. Dorothy Hughes took this opportunity to congratulate the Junior Cert. and Leaving Cert. students of 2009 who did so well in their exams and to wish the classes of 2010 all the best in the forthcoming “Pre” exams.
Open Night, Thursday January 28th.
I’d like to remind all current 6th class Primary girls that they are cordially invited to come and visit our school on Thursday night, starting at 7.30, and view our wonderful facilities.
Thank you to T.Y. students Nikita Whelan, Roisin McComb and Sophie Allen for their work in compiling this week’s notes.
